Java String intern() Method



Returns the index within this string of the first occurrence of the specified substring.

It follows that for any two strings s and t, s.intern() == t.intern() is true if and only if s.equals(t) is true.

Parameters

Here is the detail of parameters −

  • This is a default method and this do not accept any parameters.

Return Value

  • This method returns a canonical representation for the string object.
